. A scheme which will add another 100 miles to the underground railways of New York will shortly be put in hand. It is estimated to cost £87,680,000. It is hoped to create a new industry in Burma by developing the use of bamboo pulp for making paper. The bamboo forests there are almost inexhaustible.
