MONTHLY MEETING. At the monthly meeting of the Southland Land Board yesterday, there were present :—The Deputy Commissioner of Crown Lands, Mr T. Pound (in the chair) and Messrs H. J. Middleton, W. X Campbelltown Hd., 755 ac. Ir. 20p. D.P. Robert Forest Marshall.— Approved. Sec. 50 Blk XIX Jacobs River Hd., 189 ac. 3r. OOp. R.L. Gordon Andrew Carran.— approved. A. B. Moffett applied for a lease over Education Reserve Lots 11. 13, and 14 of Sec. 23, Blk. XVI Town of Gore comprising 2r. 28p. —Granted and resolution of October 17 granting a temporary license over these areas rescinded. Herbert Murdoch requested that Sec. 18, Blk. XII Oteramika Hd., 106 ac. 2r. OOp. be opened for selection. —Refused. H. G. Crockett applied for a lease of Education Reserve Sec. 9 Township of Ohai Extension No. 8 containing 1 acre 3 roods. —Granted. John William Porter, of Te Anau, applied to surrender his lease over Sections 35 Block 1 and Sections 11 to 17, Block II Town of Marakura 35 acres 2 roods 03 perches.—Surrender accepted and lease of Section 35, Block 1 to be submitted at auction at rent of £1 per annum weighted with valuation for improvements. F. G. O’Beirne, solicitor on behalf of William Snodgrass and Frances Te Anau Tither, lessees of Part Sec. 6 Blk. XXIV Town of Invercargill, 1 rood, advised that additions, improvements and alterations to the house have been made and applied for permission for the work. —Permission granted. Robert Boyd applied for permission to erect a wash-house on Lot 13 Township of Ohai Extension No. 8 held by him under Education Reserve lease.—Permission granted. Messrs Williams and Cull, sawmillers of Otautau, applied to purchase the milling timber on Sections 3 and 4, Block V Aparima and agree to bid up to the State Forest Valuation £474 if put up to auction. —Right to cut the timber to be submitted at auction on conditions to be fixed by the commissioner. The Deputy Chief Surveyor requested the board’s approval of a plan showing survey of Crown land' adjoining Athol railway station an area of 8 acres 1 rood 08 perches into three subdivisions, Block XXVII Town of Athol. —Approved. The Land Board was asked to declare cancelled the license held by W. Lemon over Part Sec. 11, Blk HI Lillbum S.D.—License cancelled and proportion of rent to be refunded. The Land Board was asked to rescind its resolution of July 18, 1929, granting a temporary license to F. Newton over Sec. 185, Blk. II Wairio S.D. comprising 17 acres 2 roods. —Resolution recinded accordingly. , „ The Deputy Commissioner of Crown Lands advised that the year to year grazing license granted to William Hanning over Bench Island (formerly Run 538) Stewart Island County, 300 acres, be cancelled as from October 10 to which date rent had been paid, the island being now reserved for preservation of fauna and flora.—License cancelled as from October 10, 1929. D. P. Dowling applied for a temporary license over Section 52, Block IV Aparima Hundred containing 20 acres. —Year to year right granted at 10/- per annum. V. Ballantine applied for a temporary license over Sections 59S to 62S Waikiwi Town Settlement.—Temporary license granted at rental of £1 per annum. Transfers. Sec. 18, Blk. IV Aparima Hd. 99ac. 2r. 39p. John Dickson to Robert Liggett Dickson. —Approved. Secs. 95 and 97 Wairio S.D., 387 ac. Ir. OOp. Run 427 Titiroa, 3,200 acres. Robert Murrell as executor to the said Robert Murrell, Raymond Murrell and Stanley Anderson Murrell.—-Approved subject to production of declarations.
