WHALING SHIPS
EXPECTED AT END OF OCTOBER.
(Per United Press Association.)
Dundin, October 4.
A cablegram was received by John Edmond and Co. to-day that the Southern Whaling and Sealing Company’s factory ship Southern Princess was due to arrive at Port Chalmers on October 30 en route to the Ross Sea.
. The factory ship will be accompanied by five chasers and it is probable that Port Chalmers will be the base at which the vessels will assemble before steaming south. It should be explained that this company is quite distinct from the Ross Haven Company which owns the C. A. Larsen, Sir James Clark Ross and Kosmos. The Southern Princess and her chasers left Middlesborough on September 1 for New Zealand.
