Rangers kept at it and opened the scoring when Batchelor sent the ball forward, Ferguson gained possession and centred to Williamson who scored neatly. Rangers .. 1 Invercargill 0 Invercargill’s return attack was down their’ right wing. Greenfield’s smart work in goal was again effective and a corner resulted. denied. Receiving on the run, Williams sent in a beautiful shot which sailed in low and beat Gosling. Rangers 2 Invercargill 1 With Rangers still keeping at the goal Gosling saved nicely from Sterling. From a free-kick against Invercargill, Maxwell sent the ball down the field with a strong kick.
