VALEDICTORY. EDITOR’S RETIREMENT. ■ A well-known editor was retiring, it was his last day in the office and he was sitting at his deck in a retrospective mood. Suddenly he picked up his fountain pen, and, giving voice to his thoughts said, “Well old friend, that’s the last column we’ll ever write together.” “You’ve been a ‘Lifetime’ friend to me all right, on ordinary days and rush days you’ve never failed. I think we have both earned a rest now.” It appears he had bought one of those Sheaffer “Lifetime” Pens, that are unconditionally guaranteed for life, many years ago, and he had used it continuously ever since. Naturally he had a sort of affection for his faithful pen. Sheaffer “Lifetime” Pens, sold in two sizes, 50/- and 57/6, and distinguished by the white dot on the cap. Stationers and Jewellers. Wholesale: Excelsior Supply Co., Ltd., Box 555, Wellington.—(Advt)
