RETURNED SOLDIERS
GATHERING IN SYDNEY. (Rec. 1 a.m.) Sydney, June 4. War reminiscences and anecdotes of Gallipoli flowed freely at the first reunion of New Zealand returned soldiers and New Zealand Imperial ex-servicemen in Sydney, 150 of whom gathered at dinner to-night. Major J. Loudon presided, and among the guests were Messrs Blow and Barnett, of the New Zealand Government Agency, and Sir Charles Rosenthall. The organizers were Messrs J. Angus, R. Chapman and Roy Stanley. A resolution was carried unanimously disapproving of the action of the Mayor of Auckland in not extending hospitality to the officers and men of the Emden, and it was considereil that the Mayor’s attitude was not only petty, but un-Christian. —Australian Press Association.
