WOMAN FINED
IN POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED FIREARM. (Per United Preet Aeeaeletioa.) Hamilton, May 10. Jane Lumbye, married, of Frankton, was to-day acquitted in the Magistrate’s Court on a charge of unlawfully presenting a loaded revolver at a policeman. Lcctbye had a dispute with vendor, White, regarding a motor cycle she purchased on the instalment plan. She refused to psy the overdue instalments or relinquish the cyde, claiming that its qualities had been misrepresented. According to the police statement, the vendor went to Lumbye’s house wtih two other men after 10 at night. Mrs Linnbye refused to admit them, saying, “If you eomc in my house I will shoot.” However, she surrendered the revolver which held three live cartridges to a policeman whose attention was called by the noise. The Magistrate, Mr Wilson, held that the illegal presenting of the revolver was not proved. For being in possession of an unregistered revolver, Mrs Lumbye was fined 10/-. _____
