THE HALF HOLIDAY
PLEA FOR UNIVERSAL DAY. (Per United Press Association.) Napier, May 9. The Prime Minister in reply to a- Napier deputation this morning, said he would give the fullest consideration to a representation requesting the enactment of legisation fixing a universal half holiday, which he personally was in favour of, as he believed it to be the only solution of the difficulty. He was prepared to ascertain the feeling of t’_x House by introducing a Bill on the matter. It had been before Parliament on other occasions and all sides had put forward very strong argument and it seemed impossible to. get any one day suitable to all interests.
