MEASURES AGAINST SMALLPOX

EFFECT ON CHANNEL TRAFFIC.

Paris, April 23.

The smallpox measures were enforced at the French ports for the first, time. The Folkestone-Boulogne boat, which ordinarily carries 250 passengers, to-day had only 93 on board, of whom 24 produced British medical certificates that they had been vaccinated recently. Others were herded in the sanitary office and given sanitary passports whereby they remain under supervision in whatever districts they arc visiting and-must inform the authorities if they show any symptoms of illness.—Australian Press Association.
