Mr William C. Cleine. 8.A.. has been advised that at the November degree examination he was successful in passing a section of his B.Sc. degree. Mr H. Guthrie, of Dunedin, was a visitor to Gore yesterday and delivered an interesting address to the Gore Rotary Club on the recent Tokio Conference.
A Nelson telegram announces the death of Mr A. G. Nightingale, a prominent citizen and ex-city councillor, formerly of Greymouth and Hokitika. Mr A. W. McMillan, of Green Lane, Auckland, has accepted an appointment as Government Inspector of Schools in Fiji, states a Press Association telegram. He will assist Mr John Caughey, formerly Director of Education in New Zealand, who is now holding a similar position in Fiji.
A Wellington Press Association message states that the Director of the Dairy Division of the Agricultural Department (Mr W. M. Singleton) will leave to-day on a six months’ world tour, during which he will inquire into dairying methods in America, Canada, Great Britain, and Denmark.
