AUCKLAND AIR PAGEANT. FOUR PLANES LEAVE HAWERA. (Per United Press Association.) Hawera, April 19. A fleet of three Moth planes, piloted by Captains J. L. Findlay of the Air Force, J. C. Mercer of the Canterbury Aero Club, M. C. -Chandler of the Marlborough Club, and a Bristol fighter, piloted by Captain H. B. Burrell of the Air Force, proceeding to the air pageant at Auckland, left here at 10.20 this morning: The weather was fair, with a stiff southerly breeze. The Moths reached here yesterday from Christchurch and Blenheim. The Bristol'fighter arrived from Feilding this morning, resuming its flight after refuelling. The Bristol fighter is the machine used by Squadron-Leader Kingsford Smith on his Dominion tour last September. . ARRIVAL AT AUCKLAND. Auckland, April 19. ■ The four planes from Hawera landed safely shortly after 12 noon. With the exception of Captain J. C. Mercer, who had trouble in finding the aerodrome and landed threeqiiarters of an hour later than the others, the time taken for the flight from Hawera was 1 hour 55 minutes.
