PERMANENT HOME WELLINGTON SELECTED AS CENTRE STATEMENT BY MAYOR (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, April 18. An indication that Wellington was to be the permanent home of the Royal Show was given by the Mayor (Mr Troup) when Speaking at Lyall Bay: “I was in touch with,one of the principal officials,” said Mr Troup, “and he assured me without any question that the Royal Show would be held in Wellington every year. They want a permanent home in the centre of New Zealand and Wellington seems to be the most suitable of all the cities for it.” ACCOMMODATING THE SHOW. DISCUSSION AT WELLINGTON. Wellington, April 18. A report presented at the meeting of the general committee of the Wellington Show Association stated that the executive of the Royal Agricultural Society had waited upon the chairman, treasurer and manager of the association. After an inspection had been made of the showgrounds and buildings a full discussion took place in regard to the general conditions and further extension of the grounds to accommodate the Royal Show. The whole question was at present under consideration by the association’s finance committee and a further report would be presented at the next general meeting.
