SAFETY OF LIFE AT SEA LONDON CONFERENCE. (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) Rugby, April 17. Sir Austen Chamberlain, expressing the Government’s welcome at a dinner last night to the delegates of the International Conference - on Safety of Life at Sea, described the conference as one uniting many nations in ties of common, human sympathy. The German Ambassador, HerrSthamer, said that the British Government, in inviting to London delegates of all seafaring nations, had again shown traditional readiness to help international co-operation and mutual goodwill, and a sincere desire to help humanity was the objective of the conference. —British Official Wireless.
