When the Queen laid the foundation stone of the new £200,000 Nurses' Home, an anonymous gift, at Middlesex Hospital, she privately delivered to the House Governor a message from the King, which has a special significance at this time. It was His Majesty’s first message since the commencement of his illness, and was as follows :—
