VALUE OF MEDICAL SCIENCE. TRIBUTE TO THE NURSES. London, January 31. When the Queen laid the foundation stone of the new £200,000 Nurses' Home, an anonymous gift, at Middlesex Hospital, she privately delivered to the House Governor a message from the King, which has a special significance at this time. It was His Majesty’s first message since the commencement of his illness, and was as follows :—
“His Majesty is very pleased that the Queen is to lay the foundation stone of the new nurses’ home. His illngss has brought him to appreciate more deeply than ever before the value of medical science and of devoted nursing.”
