VAGRANT VERSE
“I HAVE SEEN FAIRIES.” (Written for the Southland Times.) A star fell — in its falling no shape nor decision. Whether a thotigfei -w a vision who can tell? A bird sang—in its singing must there be meaning, that from contentment or keening the notes sprang? A flower died—in its dying is there a reason? Does it seek, at the end of the season, suicide ? —Brunnhilde. Invercargill, April 16, 1929.
