In the Supreme Court, Mr Justice MacGregor sentenced Samson Robert Cleland for breaking, entering and theft to 12 months' hard labour.

A youth of 19 years, charged with attempted carnal knowledge and indecent assault on a girl of 13, was acquitted.

Gisborne, March 6.

At the Supreme Court to-day before Mr Justice Ostler, Ruka Haenga was charged with forging and uttering a document purposing to be the will of a deceased Native named Hati Pakaroa who died in 1927.

The jury after a four hours’ retirement could not agree and the Judge orderer! a new trial next session.

Dave Toi Tni appealed for sentence for forging an order for goods. He was sentenced to reformativ detention not exceeding three vonrs.
