MONDAY, OCTOBER 15. (Before Mr G. Cruickshank, S.M.) (From Our Correspondent.) Judgment for plaintiff by default was given in the following cases:—JamesCreegan v. F. Hoare, for £5l 5/-, costs £6 10/6; G. Muir v. T. Woods, for £2l 17/10, costs £4 5/6; F. Knaggs v. R. Harding, for £1 2/6, costs 10/6; Commissioner of Taxes v. Michael, John Thomas and J. Hoare, for £1 8/10, costs £1 2/-; T. J. Anderson v. W. Popham, for costs only, 8/-; T. J. Henderson v. T. Hvlands, for £l7 11/8, costs £3 4/-. Breach of Apiaries’ Act. j. R. McLeish was charged with keeping bees. Without having same registered. The inspector (Mr Rhodes) said that defendant had three colonies of bees, and every beekeeper was required to make fresh application for registration. Once he had registered and held a certificate he was complying with the law. In explanation defendant stated the inspector had visited the apiary once or twice during the last six years, and he thought he was registered years ago.—Defendant was convicted and discharged.
