MAN DROWNED. (Per United Press Association.) Oamaru, October 12. Jack Miller, aged 50 and single, cook at the hydro-electric camp, Awakino, fell from the bridge into the flooded Waitaki river at Kurow yesterday. The body has not been recovered. DEATH FROM POISONING. Wellington, October 12. Frank Hamilton Roach, a salesman about 60, known as Frank Thorp, died in hospital to-day, an hour after admission, suffering from poisoning. SUCCUMBS TO INJURIES. Gisborne, October 12. Robert Macauley Bruce, an English schoolboy, died from injuries sustained through being caught in the belt of an engine driving a shearing machine at Mokouni Station, owing to the flooded river making it impossible for a doctor to reach him or remove him to hospital.
