MORTON MAINS
CONCERT AND DANCE. (From Our Correspondent.) In spite of the inclement weather the Morton Mains Hall was well filled on Wednesday evening, the occasion being a concert by the Woodlands Party in aid of the Eastern District Princess, Miss Rita Clark. In the unavoidable absence of Mr A. Horne, Mr Blackmore took the chair and introduced the princess and maids of honour, Misses Tither, Milne and Hunter. The objects of the carnival were fully explained by Mr A. S. McNaught. The programme was thoroughly enjoyed by all and encores were the order of the evening. The following contributed items: Mrs Walker, Misses Schmidt, Clark, Milne, Tither. Sadlier, Hillis (2), Messrs Walker, Leckie, Chapman, Clark, Wyett, McNaught, junr., and Hillis. The accompaniments were played by Misses Mina and Rita Clark. Supper was then handed round and the floor cleared for dancing. Mrs Erskine supplied the music and Mr L. C. Thompson was M.C. Mr F. L. Thompson thanked the performers on behalf of the Morton Mains people for the enjoyable evening.
