SCHOOL CHILDREN ON TRAINS.
To the Editor. Sir, —I have been watching the letters in your paper re High School children on trains. Ido not know if “Old Hand” has a family. I have reared 8 boys, the oldest is 36, and the youngest is 17. I am wondering why such a lot of sweeping is going on. We all know these children are full of life but that is no reason why they should be treated as criminals. All they do is done in fun. They will be old soon enough. I find it is ..better not to take them seriously. I Have had some good laughs in my time. I have brought my children up hard, the world is hard. I told mine if they come home and tell me a boy gave them a hiding I would give them another. We are not like “Mum” at Otautau as they have all the good children. This is referring to some time back, of course.—l am, etc., “MUM.”
