YOUNG MAN TERRIBLY INJURED. (Per United Press Association.) Gisborne, October 11. An English schoolboy named Robin Bruce, aged 23, was terribly injured at Motowiwi Station, East Coast, this morning through being caught in the belt of a shearing shed engine. When the belt came off Bruce attempted to replace it but his leg became entangled. He was thrown right across the shed, one leg being torn off at the hip. The other is believed to be broken. Bruce, who is a recent arrival, is in a critical condition but has never lost consciousness. SKELETON FOUND IN BUSH. Greymouth, October 11. Searching for a cow and finding a human skeleton was the experience yesterday of a Barryt > n farmer in lonely bush eight miles from the township. Appearances suggest it had been there many years and was that of a man. Die police have gone out.
