OPERATICS

THE GORE SOCIETY. FIRST PERFORMANCE TO-NIGHT. (From Our Correspondent.) In the Princess Theatre this evening the Gore Operatic Society will stage its first production “Pearl the Fishermaiden,” an operetta full of bright choruses, charming ballets and clever humour and one which should be well within the scope of the members. For a long time past the members under the musical director (Mr. G. F. Mirams) have been steadily rehearsing and their progress has been particularly gratifying. The operetta contains many fine choruses and in these the audience should have no reason to be disappointed. Equal attention has also been paid to the arrangement of the ballets and to the individual casts, while the stage settings will also be excellent. In a town where musical organizations are not over plentiful a society such as the Gore Operatic Society, is deserving of every encouragement, and those who attend its opening performance shall be amply rewarded for their patronage.
