CORNWALL AND SANDERS CUPS. DECISION OF OTAGO ASSOCIATION. (Per United Press Association.) Dunedin, October 10. At a meeting of the Otago Yacht and Motor Boat Association to-night it was decided to issue a challenge for the Sanders Cup. There was some discussion in connection with the Cornwall Cup contest, the unsatisfactory conclusion of the last contest being referred to and the association decided to take no part in the Cornwall Cup contest conducted by the Takapuna Boating Club. When referring to yachting contests the president of the association said that the Sanders Cup annual contest was the premier event of the year and he thought it was the duty of the association to support it and help to keep it always before the public. It was also decided to sail three or more trial races for the purpose of selecting Otago’s challenger for the cup.
