TOM HEENEY
RETURN TO DOMINION. PREPARATIONS FOR WELCOME. (Per United Pre»s Association.) Wellington, September 8. Tom Heeney will be met in Auckland by representatives of the Auckland Boxing Association, including Jim Gleeson. He will leave for the Coast on Tuesday and wiU be accorded a public reception at Gisborne on Friday. On Monday week he will be present at the contest in Wellington between Johnny Leckie (feather-weight champion of New Zealand) and Norman Radford (England). An official function will be held at the Town Hall at the conclusion of the tournament, the Hon. J. G. Coates presiding. All the members of Parliament are being invited while invitations have been extended to other important guests, including officials of the Gisborne Boxing Association. On behalf of the Wellington Boxing Association, Mr Earl Stewart has written to Tom Heeney wishing him a hearty return to New Zealand.
