THE DAVIS CUP AMERICA'S PROSPECTS OF REGAINING TROPHY. (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) Philadelphia, September 8. Attending the Franco-American team matches on Friday, William Johnson declared that it may be five or six years before the United States can win back the Davis Cup. He was much impressed with Cochet’s playing. “There were none on the courts who could come up to the standard of Cochet and Lacoste, and until America develops players able to beat them the Cup will stay in France,” he said.—Australian Press Association-United Service.
