BRILLIANT CAREER BLIGHTED. (Per United Press Association.) Dunedin, July 16. A youth of 20 years whose name the Magistrate suppressed with some hesitation, was admitted to probation for two years at the Police Court on charges of theft of a total of £3 15/- from the Public Trust Office in which he was employed. Counsel described the case as almost incomprehensible. The young man had high intelligence and breeding and probably no boy in Dunedin had had a more brilliant scholastic career which was now rendered abortive.
