DARING PAIR
TO SAIL IN THE DINKUM AUSSIE. London, June 19. Mr. Robert Kermode, of Melbourne, and a companion have completed preparations for setting out on an adventurous trip to Australia in a sailing boat named the Dinkum Aussie. The boat was handed over to them on the East Coast of Scotland, from where they sailed by canals, the Firth of Forth and the River Clyde to the Irish Sea. They are now at Manchester, fitting out for the long trip. The first stage was without incident except for a night spent on a mudbank, from where the returning tide floated them off. The first call will probably be at Roscoff (Brittany) and then they will call at Corunna, Lisbon, the Azores and America. They will proceed to Australia via the Panama Canal.—Sun Special.
