PROBING A MYSTERY
LOWENSTEIN’S DISAPPEARANCE. THEORY OFFICIALLY TESTED. London, July 12. Air Ministry officials tested Baron Lowensteins machine at Croydon. Flying at 1000 feet Major Cooper, tied with a rope, flung himself against the door which opened six inches. He was immediately flung back into the cabin by the rush of wind from the propeller. There was a prolonged struggle before he was able to climb out on to the step.—Australian Press Association. SHARES NOT AFFECTED. Rugby, July 12. in accordance with anticipations the Stock Exchange settlement day passed off without any incident or apparent trouble. The rumours that a fall in Baron Lowenstein's companies shares was likely to cause some failures was thus proved completely unfounded. —British Official Wireless.
