SABBATH OBSERVANCE.
CROSS-EXAMINATION OF MR PASCOE. To the Editor. Sir, —Mr Pascoe is a witness under crossexamination. He has no business either with “points” or with keeping his cross-examiner to the “point.” It is however very much to the point that the opportunity should be taken to “discredit the witness.” Mr Pascoe’is translation of the Greek is under criticism. His ignorant incorrect and misleading rendering of Luke XXIII 43 is produced to assist in raising the question whether such a translator is competent to expound the Scripture. I have asked for quotations from the Old Testament. Mr Pascoe’s reply is, “We will ask Paul to occupy the witness box.” “Let Paul speak again.” It is the first time I have heard that Paul was an Old Testament prophet. Does Mr Pascoe not know that Paul was a New Testament writer I repeat the question: Will Mr Pascoe quote any passage From The Old Testament revealing that there is only one church body composed of all who exercise faith in Christ?—l am, etc., FRANK SAMPSON.
