EASTERN DISTRICT SUB-UNION. (From Our Correspondent.) Last night’s meeting of the management committee of the E.D.S.U. was attended by Messrs G. Whittingham (chairman), F. Wallis senr., C. D. McConnell, M. Fitzgerald, S. M. Murray, E. M. Christie, I. Martin, H. G. Wallis, R. Blair and J. Lenihan. A letter was received from the South Otago Sub-Union advising that July 4 was too early for the second grade match with Eastern at Gore and suggesting that the match be played on some date late in August and also that the E.D.S.U. should propose a date for the senior fixture at Balclutha. It was decided to propose August 18 for the senior fixture and to leave it to the South Otago Sub-Union to suggest a date for the junior game. The Wakatipu Sub-Union wrote inviting Eastern to play a match at Queenstown against its representative team. The matter was referred to the chairman and secretary to ascertain the probable cost of the trip. The Gore High School Club was granted permission to send two teams to play at Invercargill on Wednesday next.

The Albion Club advised that one of its players, L. Ritchie, had played third grade for Pioneer on June 20. —lt was decided to ask Ritchie for an explanation.

The Albion Club applied for re-grades from first to second grade for E. Wallis, D. McCorkindale, R. Tutty and E. Bacon. —It was decided to re-grade R. Tutty and E. Bacon and to hold over the application of Wallis and McCorkindale indefinitely.
