WILKINS’ ANCESTOR
PIONEER OF ARCTIC EXPEDITIONS. London, June 13. “The Australian explorer, Sir George Wilkins’ ancestor who suggested Arctic expeditions in 1673 was the Bishop of Chester.” This was revealed by Lord Thompson, formerly Secretary for Air, at a luncheon given at the Savoy Hotel to Sir George and Lieutenant Carl Eilson, his pilot, by the Aeronautical Society, the Royal Aero Club, the Air League and the British Aircraft Constructors’ Society.—Sun Special.
