A Rotorua Press Association message announces the death of Mrs Elizabeth Martha Falloona, late of Waiwera House, Rotorua, suddenly from cerebral haemorrhage. Mr E. H. Murney, of Tapanui, vicepresident of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, left Dunedin for Wellington yesterday to attend a meeting of the union’s Advisory Committee.

Mr T. S. Little, of Ngapara, North Otago, has gone to Sydney to judge the Border Leicester sheep classes at the Sydney Sheep Show. He is accompanied by Mr T. H. T. Little, of Hui Hui, and Mr R. J. Low’, of Highbank. Members of Parliament who were on the express for Lyttelton yesterday were Sir James Allen, Sir John Sinclair, the Hons. G. M. Thomson, R. Scott, D. T. Fleming, John MacGregor, and A. F. Hawke, M.L.C.’s, and Messrs J. M. Dickson and F. Waite, M.P.’s.

Mr. J. Miller, registrar of the Supreme Court in Christchurch, who was recently appointed a stipendiary magistrate, will leave Christchurch on July 9 to relieve in centres on the Main Trunk line. He will take up his permanent duties at Masterton in August.

Constable George Macartney, who has been in charge of North Invercargill for the past nine months, has resigned from the police force and has been granted three months’ leave of absence, which will terminate at the end of September. He will be replaced by Constable Melville, of Addington.
