RATE NOTICES. SOUTHLAND COUNTY. RATES: 1928-1929. PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to the provisions of “The Counties Act, 1920,” “The Rating Act, 1925,” and the amendments thereof it is the intention of the Southland County Council to make on FRIDAY, the 13th day of July, 1928, for the period beginning Ist April, 1928, and ending 31st March, 1929, on the Unimproved Value of all the rateable property on the Valuation Roll of tjie Ridings respectively, viz.:— A GENERAL RATE of one penny eleven twenty-fourths of a penny in Waihopai Riding; one penny three farthings in the £ in Awarua Riding; one penny five-eighths of a penny in the £ in Wallacetown Riding; one penny one farthing in the £ in Winton Riding; one penny three-eighths of a penny in the £ in Oreti and Mataura Ridings; one penny five-sixteenths of a penny in the £ in the Hokonui Riding; one penny eleven-sixteenths of a penny in the £ in the Waikaia Riding, and one penny seven-eighths of a penny in the £ in the Toetoes Riding. AND under section 41 of “The Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1926,” a Hospital Rate of one-fourth of a penny in the £ an the Capital Value of all the rateable property in the County as entered in the Valuation Rolls. All the aforementioned Rates being payable in one sum at the Office of the Southland County Council, Clyde Street, Invercargill, on the 15th day of August, 1928.
