RUSSIAN EMPRESS

INTIMATE LETTERS RECOVERED. (Rec. 10.15 p.m.) London, June 26. The Daily Express has recovered from Bolshevik hands hundreds of intimate letters written from 1870 to 1915 by the King and Queen and other crowned heads of Europe to the Empress Marie, mother of the murdered Czar. The letters were smuggled out of Russia with great difficulty. The Daily Express handed them to King George, who will distribute them to the writers where possible. The letters include several of the King’s to “Darling Aunt Minny” signed in an uncertain boyish hand "Georgie.”—Australian Press Association.
