PARROT AGED 180

DEATH THROUGH ACCIDENT. RUN OVER AT BRIGHTON. London, May 12. The late “Cockey Bennett” of Tom Ugly’s Point was a mere chicken compared with parrot Jacko who was run over and killed by a cart at Brighton at the age of 180. He was formerly the property of Marshal Massena and met the Emperor Napoleon. His latest owner had refused £lOOO for the bird. Other noted parrots are Peter, of Earl’s Court, aged 126, Cockey of Amersham, 105, and Samson of the Zoo, 102.
