ASSAULT ON GIRL
SALUTARY SENTENCE IMPOSED. Sydney, March 15. Imposing a sentence of five years gaol and ten strokes of the “cat” on a labourer convicted of a serious offence on an eight-year-old girl, Mr. Justice Napier hoped the sentence would be a warning to others inclined to act in a similar manner.—Australian Press Association.
