VICE-JIEGAL. The Governor-General. Sir Charles Fergusson, and Lady Alice Fergusson will remain in Auckland until June 7 when they will make a tour of the Taranaki and Hawkes Bay districts. Their Excellencies will attend the Manawatu show at Palmerston North on June 21 and will then proceed tc Wellington for the Parliamentary session. —Auckland Press Association message. MINISTERIAL. The Hon. O. J. Hawken, Minister of Agriculture, arrived in Dunedin last evening from Invercargill. He broke the journey north to attend the anniversary function of the Edendale Dairy Company. The Minister will leave for the north by express to-day. His Honor, Mr Justice Sim and his associate, Mr B. C. Haggitt, returned to Dunedin by the express yesterday. Lieutenant-Colonel J. F. Southall, immigration officer for the Salvation Army in Canada, arrived in Dunedin on Tuesday afternoon on a brief visit. Colonel Southall recently brought a party of London boys to the Army’s farm at Putaruru (Auckland district).
