WINTON NOTES
PRESBYTERIAN BIBLE CLASSES. (From Our Correspondent.) A meeting of the Northern Sub-Union of Presbyterian Bible Classes was held in Church Hall, Winton, on Monday, 14th inst. The Rev. Hogg was in the chair. It was decided to hold the annual rally on June 4 at Winton. The rally will commence with an interview with the travelling secretary for New Zealand, the Rev. Whitelaw, who will also give an address in the Radio Theatre. The football match for the Calder Shield between Otago and Southland Bible classes will be played at the recreation ground at 10.30 p.m. In the afternoon relay races will be held also a seven-a-side Rugby tournament for a banner presented by Mr Adam Kerse. Basketball and hockey will also be played. In the evening a gathering will be held in the Radio Theatre when the shield and banner will be presented to the winners. The Winton Choral Union are journeying to Mataura on Friday, May 18, to give a programme of selected music in aid of the Mataura Highland Society.
