BIBLE CLASS SOCIAL
FAREWELL TO THE REV. W. H.
On May 11a Bible Class social was held in South Hillend Hall as a farewell to the Rev. W. H. Norton and Mrs Norton. An enjoyable evening was spent in playing games and a solo sung by Mrs Norton was given an appreciative encore. At a suitable interval the guests of the evening were presented by Mr Jim Stewart on behalt of the Sunday School and Bible Class with a case of cutlery. A little girl from the Sunday School gave Mrs Norton a bouquet of flowers. Mrs Plunkett spoke of the esteem in which Mrs Norton was held by P.W.M.U. members and on their behalf asked Mrs Norton to accept a toilet set. The Rev. W. H. Norton and Mrs Norton expressed appreciation of the peoples’ kind thoughts and gifts. After Mr Leslie Clarke had thanked all who helped to make the evening an enjoyable one, the singing of “God be with you till we meet again,” brought a happy function to a close.
