NEW ZEALAND FARMERS’ UNION.
SOUTHLAND PROVINCIAL DISTRICT.
To Mr Dear Sir, I understand that you purpose buying an implement from Messrs and I have much pleasure in stating that there will be an allowance of 12A per cent, discount, but the business will have to go through this office. It simply means that you can pay in your cheque here and we will pass it on to Messrs Yours faithfully, Signed Provincial Secretary. This letter came under our notice accidentally. If this is not a back-door proposition perhaps Mr Ward can explain what it is. Had the arrangements been advertised in the usual business way and openly extended to all firms alike it would have been a different matter. We were the first to make reductions last season and openly advertised the prices.— I am, etc., GEORGE COOPER, Manager, Messrs Booth, Macdonald and Co., Ltd., Invercargill. May 15.
