DR. A. W. HILL’S TOUR

VISIT TO WEST COAST. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, January 26. Dr. Hill, director of Kew Gardens, London, left for Nelson and the West Coast tonight. At Nelson he will confer with the authorities of the Cawthorn Institute and then pay a visit to the Franz Joseph Glacier. He will return’ to Wellington before leaving finally for the north. It is understood that the itinerary for Dr. A. W. Hill’s tour did not include a visit to the great kauri forests at Waipotia, North Auckland. Representations have been made that he should not leave New Zealand before seeing this scenic wonder and it is hoped that arrangements will be finalised to enable the English botanist to include Waipotia in his northern programme.
