THE LAND TAX
MR PHILIP SNOWDEN’S SCHEME. (Rec. 7.55 p.m.) London, January 26. Advocating the taxation of land values, Mr Philip Snowden, speaking at Hanley, said that if the value of the land in Britain in proportion to the population were taken at only half New Zealand’s figure, a tax of fivepence in the pound (the same rate as that imposed in Sydney) would produce £100,000,000.—A. and N.Z.
