HEAVY SLIP
ROAD BLOCKED NEAR NAPIER. MOTOR SERVICES INTERRUPTED. (Per United Press Association.) Napier, June 20. Following considerable rain in the past 48 hours, a heavy slip came down ’in the Matahoura Gorge five miles on the Napier side of Paikare at about 8 o’clock to-night, completely blocking the Napier-Wairoa road. The full extent of the blockage is not at present ascertainable. Public Works employees will make a start clearing the road to-morrow. Motor services are interrupted.
