SURPRISE AT COMMUNIST GATHERING. MISSING DEPUTY IGNORES LEADER. (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) London, June 17. A great surprise was caused at a Communist meeting in Paris. M. Cachin was speaking when in walked the missing Deputy, M. Doriot. On the commotion subsiding M. Cachin finished his speech and claimed an amnesty for deputies against whom proceedings were instituted, after which M. Doriot took off his coat, rolled up his shirt sleeves and, amidst prolonged cheering, dealt with the Chinese revolution and Syndicalist movement.—A. and N.Z.
