FLYING SCHOOL OFFICERS KILLED. PLANE CRASHES AT STAMFORD. London, June 16. Flight-Lieutenant Baggs and Flying Officer Bell, members of the Air Force Flying School at Stamford, crashed and both were killed.—Sun Cable. DE PINEDO’S WELCOME. Rome, June 16. Thousands of people waited all day to welcome de Pinedo. After making a perfect landing he was conveyed to a special wharf lined by distinguished personages. Signor Mussolini stood aside while de Pinedo saluted his wife, after which the Duce embraced the aviator, saying, “Commander, I bring you a grateful, enthusiastic and affectionate welcome from the entire nation.”—A. and N.Z. Owing to a monsoon, Carr and Mackworth, who are still waiting for favourable weather, decided to slightly alter their route, flying in a north-easterly direction across Sind Desert instead of to Calcutta.—A. and N.Z.
