The Union Steam Ship Company’s steamer Kurow sailed for Dunedin at 5. p.m. yesterday. The ketch Britannia, arrived from Stewart Island on Monday with 76 cases of fish and 7 bags of wool. The steamer Anglo-Colombian is expected to arrive at Bluff from Geelong at 5 a.m. on Thursday. The steamer Progress is on her way from Wellington with a cargo of rails. The date of arrival of the Anglo-Colomb-ian, which is to load wool for London, is still indefinite. The vessel is now en route from Geelong.

The Moeraki was to leave Wellington yesterday for Lyttelton, Dunedin and Bluff. Due on Saturday, the Moeraki will sail on Monday for Melbourne, via Milford Sound. The Oreti left Invercargill yesterday for Port Craig and Dunedin. She will return to Invercargill about Tuesday next. The Japanese steamer Saka Maru, with jarrah from Bunbury, arrived at Auckland on Monday. She will complete discharge at Wellington and Dunedin. The Mahia, which is due at Auckland on March from Antwerp, has a cargo of basic slag for discharge at New Zealand

The’Tofua arrived at Auckland on Monday from Fiji. The Cunard liner Franconia left Auckland at 7.30 p.m. for Wellington. The vessel is due at Wellington to-day and later proceeds to Milford Sound, thence Hobart. According to a cable from San Francisco, the Maunganui arrived at the American port from Sydney on Saturday. The Port Sydney arrived at London from Bluff last Saturday. The liner Ruahine, en route from London, was despatched from Southampton on February 11 with passengers for New Zealand. The cargo is for discharge at Wellington and Auckland. She is due at Wellington on March 19.

Built by Swan, Hunter and Wigham Richardson, Ltd., for the Ellerman Line, Ltd., the City of Oxford, a single-screw steamer, has carried out very successful trials off the Tyne. Constructed to the highest class of Lloyd’s Register, and rigged as a two-masted fore and aft schooner, she is 325 ft long and is designed to carry about 4,950 tons on a reasonable draft. There are five holds, with ample facilities for the quick handling of cargo, comprising five large hatchways, 14 steel derricks and 10 steam winches. Electric light is installed throughout the ship. The propelling machinery consists of triple expansion engines and three single-ended boilers working at a pressure of 1051 b per square inch. WITHIN WIRELESS RANGE.
