EFFECT OF 44-HOUR WEEK. Melbourne, October 28. Giving evidence at the inquiry before the Federal Arbitration Court into the probable effects of the adoption throughout the Commonwealth industries of the 44-hour week, the manager of a Victorian firm estimated that it would add an additional £10,000,000 to £20,000,000 annually to production costs. —A. and N.Z.
