WESTERN DISTRICT DOUBLES TOURNAMENT. (From Our Correspondent.) Fine weather was experienced for the Western District doubles tournament, which was played on the Otautau courts on Monday, although a strong wind in the morning made things very disagreeable. Despite this, however, a very enjoyable day was spent, some interesting sets being witnessed, particularly in the finals. Good entries were received from Nightcaps, Tuatapere and Otautau clubs, the winners being:— Ladies’ Doubles: Misses Guest and Bailey (Riverton) ; men’s doubles: Messrs Johnson and Higgins (Tuatapere) ; and combined doubles: Miss B. Scatter and S. Harrington (Otautau). At the conclusion of the tournament Mr G. B. Burns, president of the Western District Tennis Association, thanked the competing clubs for the support accorded, and hoped this would be the forerunner of many such functions. The games had been played in the most friendly spirit, and he hoped all had enjoyed themselves. The president (Mr. Burns) and the secretary (Mr H. A.
