RUGBY LEAGUE
NEW ZEALAND TEAM. FINANCIAL ASPECT OF TOUR. London, October 25. The Athletic News says the industrial depression has affected the attendance at the New Zealand League team’s matches, and the receipts are not likely to approach the 1921-22 Australian tourists’ figures, amounting to £38,000, of which the tourists’ share was £21,529. One-third erf the present tour is completed, and the receipts total £8741. The gate money on Saturday, £1135, was the highest thus far for a club match.—A. and N.Z. MATCH IN LONDON PROPOSED. (Rec. 10.25 pun.) London, October 25. Negotiations are proceeding for the New Zealand Rugby League footballers to play a game in London, probably against a mixed League side in the latter half of January.—A. and N.Z.
