RUMANIA’S KING
REPORTED TO BE DYING QUEEN'S VISIT TO AMERICA HOPES TO SECURE LOANS (By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright.) London, October 14. The Gazette’s Vienna correspondent asserts that the real reason of the Rumanian Queen’s visit to America is because the King is seriously ill, it is believed of cancer. Physicians only give him another two years to live.. They told the Queen if she did not go to America now she would not be able to go at all as Queen. The Government strongly opposed the visit, on the ground of the Rumanian people’s poverty, but the Queen insisted, declaring the trip would more than pay for itself owing to loans she hoped to secure from American bankers. •—Sun Cable. CAROL WANTS TO COME BACK. Paris, October 15. It is reported that Prince Carol of Rumania has decided to return to his wife, and will probably resume his Crown Prince rights. Negotiations will be begun when the Rumanian King recovers.—A. & N.Z.
